Well it's obvious that U cannot block off the top of the chimney. And even if you want to just block off your portion it may cause a problem for everyone else. So why do you not consult a chimney expert? A person who builds chimneys. In the U K there are people like that. Here in the States we just have mostly Salesmen who read a brochure once and awhile,,and dont know thier ass from a hole in the ground. you must be in the U K.
