Do you want to enlarge ONE room by 3 sq ft? If so... that would require some tearing out of existing wall board.... taking out the brick and re-wall boarding.. Are you sure this is what you want to do? Many people buying houses (in case you were to sell it) want a fire place.. and seeing the chimney on top would anticipate that it had a fireplace on the inside Not clear.. If it is properly installed it will crumble. Be careful since if it was not done correctly the top portion may fall in.
