Cute, no circulation
|

I agree with all on the look of heater. It's cute and welcoming. The heater just doesn't have any kind of circulation for the heat, so it doesn't seem very effective to me. I use it in combination with another heater, and they seem to get the job done. My room is larger than they recommend for this size heater. I use an air filter in front of it that blows the air, it works much better this way, though not as attractive.
If left on all day, it definitely will keep the chill away. I'm in Southern California, so the cold isn't quite freezing, and generally, days are warmer. |

| I love this little stove. I have a fireplace in a small condo and I place it in front of fireplace in the whole of the fireplace. It looks so real and now I will never have to have another fire or have to clean a fireplace or smell it again. Nor will I ever purchase wood or presto logs or pollute the air outside. It's great. |

| The product itself is really pretty. However, it didn't have the front door like my mom's nor does it have the turbo blower like my mom's. The door was a purely aesthetic desire on my behalf. However, the lack of the turbo blower does make a difference in how quickly the device warms a room. Still, overall, it has served its general purpose for me quite well. I will make it a point to look for more specifics next time though. |
Gives You a Nice Glow

This electric fireplace heater does a good job imitating a real log fireplace, produces a cozy glow, and does radiate some warmth.
However, there are a few things to consider before buying this product.
1. The unit draws 15 amps. The electric circuits in the older part of my house are just 15 amp circuits, so I haven't felt I could plug the unit in there without risking tripping a breaker. I feel limited to plugging it into the newer section of my building where the circuits are all 20 amps. Even here though, I avoid plugging anything else into the same circuit as the unit, again for fear of overloading that circuit.
2. The controls for the unit are not located very conveniently. They are near the bottom of the fireplace box, so you have to stoop down and grope in a potentially darkened corner to turn the unit on. I keep a flashlight handy to see which switch (On/Low/Hi/Lights Only) I'm flipping.
3. While the unit does produce warmth, the fan doesn't seem to circulate that warm air very efficiently out from under the unit where it's generated. Some warmth does diffuse around the unit, but I wouldn't say this fireplace could efficiently heat even a relatively small room.
However the unit is solidly, safely built. Even when it's put on "Hi," the walls of the fireplace box don't get warm, so there's no danger of igniting any nearby wall, and there's no chance of a child getting burned by touching one of the sides of the unit. Furthermore, the front of my unit does NOT open, so children can't get in there and do any damage.
On the whole, this unit serves more for appearances than as a serious, long-term substitute for any central heating in a room. But it is cozy and flickering, and inspires a yen to slow down, curl up, and start reading a ghost story. |

| I puchased two of these firplaces for my duplex apartments in Florida. The tenants are delighted. They rave about the comforts during our cold winter. For me, the cost of electricity has been reduced average $70 per month. I am pleased that I purchased them. Joan in Florida |
