Can enameled cast iron cook ware handle /the heat of a wood stove ?

i want to put a pot of water on top of a wood stove. i will use the water for tea, and as a humidifier.

i want to leave it unattended for 16 hours.

it may run out of water.

i need a pot that can handle the heat.

i realize cast iron can handle the heat, but it will rust.

i realize enameled cast iron wont rust, but can it handle the heat?

if not, any suggestions of what i could use?

I don’t think cast iron is a good choice, it will rust if you use it primarily for water. But the enameled one will last for a while unless you let it run out of water and that could damage the enamel. I think a better choice would be stainless steel. But if you have it and want to try it, you will have your answer.
